Força, Foco, Fé

During my research into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), I was particularly drawn to its philosophy: that physical strength alone does not determine victory. Instead, it is about technique, precision and the ability to redirect an opponent’s energy against them. This idea became a core inspiration for the film. How power, fear and control are negotiated between the characters.

In conversations with female BJJ fighters in Brazil and Germany, I learned how deeply BJJ extends beyond the sport itself. For many of them, it becomes a tool to overcome fear, build resilience, practice self-defense and reclaim agency in their everyday lives.

At the same time, I wanted to highlight a form of femininity that includes rage, ambition, competitiveness and brutal force.
