AISSATOU
Synopsis
Aissatou explores the generational legacy of mothers and daughters. Inspired by her late mother, a former marathon runner, Anigo takes up running with the goal of completing her first marathon in Berlin in 2024. She shares this passion with her own daughter, who carries her grandmother’s name, creating a living bond that spans three generations.
Director’s note
Laurina Guillauby participated in the Nike – School to Swoosh Project. She had the idea to create a project that revolves around Anigo’s story and the powerful connections that are shared across generations of women within the same family. She came to me with the Idea and thats how our collaboration started.
Aissatou was screened at BIWOC* Rising (2024).
